The main issue in elections

How can we choose between the confusing array of election promises?  The short answer is don’t vote for policies.  Every policy is based on a worldview.  So vote for the worldview you believe will be best for your whole nation now and in the future.

Why?  When circumstances change, which is sure to happen, the promised policies may also have to change.  The new policies will, of course, be based on the worldview of those we elected.

Too many voters expect the future to be better if they vote for policies that appeal to their self-interest.  In fact, the future will be much more influenced by the worldview of those they elect, which is why their worldview is far more important than their policies.

The main issue in any election is to choose those politicians who in unforeseeable future situations are most likely to pass laws that continue to improve the three things that everyone wants: justice, freedom and prosperity.

Those three blessings make Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the United States (ABCANZUS) the world’s most sort-after places to live.  What caused our good fortune?

If you think it was democracy, think again!  Democracy degenerates into brutal mob rule unless people already know how to exercise freedom with a strong sense of responsibility toward their community.  That kind of freedom can only be built on love-based justice – otherwise the strong use their freedom to crush the weak.  Finally, research (click here for details) shows that national prosperity depends on justice that is difficult to corrupt – again that means justice focused on genuine love for others.

So the freedom and prosperity that draw people of every race and religion to ABCANZUS were built on justice that is fair and hard to corrupt.  In his book “The Changing Law” renowned jurist, Lord Denning, showed that ABCANZUS justice was built over many centuries by common law judges using the love-based values of Jesus, summarized in the command to “love others as you love yourself.”

Some political worldviews despise the Christian legal values that built justice, freedom and prosperity.  They pretend that government can be “secular.”  Click here for proof that “secular” government is impossible.  Electing “secular” politicians has caused a steady deterioration of justice, freedom and prosperity in ABCANZUS nations.

As a result, too many laws now require us to prove our own innocence.  Things are now so unjust in some ABCANZUS countries that someone only has to claim you offended them and you are probably guilty of “discrimination.”  You will have to plead your case NOT in a politically impartial court, but before a tribunal of political appointees.  Even if you win you are likely to be bankrupted by lawyers’ fees.

That actually happened to two Christian pastors in 2005 in Victoria, Australia.  They were held to be guilty of vilifying Muslims by accurately quoting the Koran while at the same time exhorting the audience to love Muslims.   Fortunately, Victoria’s Appeals Court overturned the decision and roundly criticized the decisions of the judge who had headed the Tribunal.  The pastors, however, were saddled with huge legal fees.  That threat of bankruptcy was designed into the legislation by Victoria’s “secular,” socially extremist, “progressive” Labor government.  It is a threat that blackmails people into silence and stealthily takes away the right to free speech.

Injustice accelerates when “secular” politicians sign UN “treaties,” which are small moves toward UN world government.  Such “treaties” are approved by the votes of UN member nations – the majority of whom refuse to give their own people an honest vote.

We need international bodies to coordinate some things like postal and communication services.  What we do not need is advice from the despots that dominate the UN on how to govern the ABCANZUS countries that lead the world in justice, freedom and prosperity.

Conclusion:

Vote for politicians who endorse love-based Christian legal values so that people of all races and religions in ABCANZUS nations continue to enjoy justice, freedom and prosperity.  Don’t vote for those who believe the lie that government can be “secular” – even if they claim to be Christian.
