There is no nation on earth where everyone is a Christian. For that reason, secularists object to the term Christian nation. Click here for a discussion on secular government.
Nevertheless, there is a sense in which it would be accurate to call common law countries Christian nations. Renowned jurist, Lord Denning, recorded that generations of English common law judges based their findings on Jesus’ golden rule of treating others as we ourselves would wish to be treated.
Common law legal values flowed on into the other institutions of common law countries and filtered through to their populations. In that way, Jesus’ love-based values were adopted in ABCANZUS nations (Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the United States) by the great mass of the people whether or not they were Christians.
Widespread adoption of Christian values, especially as the basis for law, produced the justice, freedom and prosperity that make common law countries a magnet to immigrants of every race and creed.
