Fear of the ‘muscular’ Christianity discussed in the previous section became very vocal when the era of Bush, Blair and Howard was closing. Those three Christian leaders had marginalized the UN when they formed “the coalition of the willing.” The UN’s usefulness began to be widely questioned, not least because undemocratic regimes make up its majority.
Rationalist academics were horrified. They want the UN telling us how to govern ABCANZUS. They achieve that by advocating UN ‘treaties’ that change our laws without consulting voters. It’s the sneaky way that rationalist politicians use to replace our Christian common law values with Godless values and voters seldom notice.
Rationalist concern over waning UN influence provoked the greatest ever “scientific” scam. Rationalistic scientists designed weather models that predicted disastrous global warming. We were told that only the UN could solve such a vast international problem.
Ten years later it was clear – and now it is even clearer – that actual temperatures have invalidated the scary models. This was no surprise – not only because it is impossible for any individual climate scientist to be expert in more than a few of the twenty or more climate disciplines, but also because common sense people doubt next week’s weather predictions, let alone those for the next 100 years. Undaunted by the failure of temperatures to rise as their models had predicted, the scare mongers simply changed their terminology from ‘global warming’ to ‘climate change.’
Late in 2009, a hacker published thousands of emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit. Some of the world’s leading scientists were caught red-handed lying and deceiving lesser mortals about ‘global warming.’
Genuine climate scientists, such as Australia’s Professor Bob Carter, had warned all along that ‘global warming’ was flawed science, but the media ignored him. In fact, rationalist propagandists like the Australian Broadcasting Commission’s Tony Jones labelled him a ‘climate change skeptic’ – a nonsensical phrase because no climate scientist doubts the massive impact of climate change over the geological ages.
An article by Professor Carter entitled “The Futile Quest for Climate Control” appeared in the November 2008 edition of Quadrant. He introduced it with the following overview:
“Climate change knows three realities: science reality, which is what working scientists deal with every day; virtual reality, which is the wholly imaginary world inside computer climate models; and public reality, which is the socio-political system within which politicians, business people and the general citizenry work.
The science reality is that climate is a complex, dynamic, natural system that no one wholly comprehends, though many scientists understand different small parts. So far, science provides no unambiguous evidence that dangerous or even measurable human-caused global warming is occurring.
The virtual reality is that computer models predict future climate according to the assumptions that are programmed into them. There is no established Theory of Climate, and therefore the potential output of all realistic computer general circulation models (GCMs) encompasses a range of both future warmings and coolings, the outcome depending upon the way in which they are constructed. Different results can be produced at will simply by adjusting such poorly known parameters as the effects of cloud cover.
The public reality in 2008 is that, driven by strong environmental lobby groups and evangelistic scientists and journalists, there is a widespread but erroneous belief in our society that dangerous global warming is occurring and that it has human causation.”
Professor Carter, with other leading scientists, has formed the Non-governmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC). In October 2013 the NIPCC issued “Climate Change Reconsidered II,”[1] a detailed critique of the UN’s latest IPCC report. The NIPCC demonstrates that the UN report misleads, misinforms and retreats from at least eleven of the predictions of climate change alarmists.
In hindsight, it is clear that weather models were tweaked to predict disastrous global warming. It was a deceitful attempt to affect foreign policies. Cloaked in scientific ‘objectivity,’ rationalists were – and still are – trying to panic nations into ceding more sovereignty and money to the UN.
This battle for power over nations rages while most people are blissfully unaware. At stake is whether nations will be:
- free to govern themselves while cooperating with others, or
- centrally directed by the ‘votes’ of the undemocratic and often brutal regimes that dominate the UN and its corrupt bureaucracies.
The global warming scare campaign is a case study of the depths to which rationalist scientists will sink to achieve their politico-religious aims. They tried to bully nations into accepting UN central ‘government’, which would be based on the rationalist values that have fomented most of the world’s revolutionary bloodshed since 1793.
